HOW WE WORK WITH STUDENTS

• Hold Saturday Art Workshops with resident volunteer artists who offer instruction in various media, techniques, and points of view
  
• Sponsor an ongoing Mentoring Program with young artists
• Provide guidance in portfolio development, and art school & art job counseling

In 1984, three of our resident artists, Harold Bradford, Sylvester Collier, and Vicki Richardson collectively exhibited their artwork on social issues. The success of these exhibits, and the opportunity to mutually reinforce & share ideas gave impetus for founding a permanent gallery space. The three founding artists invited other artists who also believed in the mission of expressing our diverse cultural experience to join them- to create an alternative exhibit space, Left of Center.
